World Migratory Bird Day major events are held on the Second Saturday in May and in October each year. With the approaching May date, the lecture about the bird migration, its wonders, and interesting facts will be held by ornithologist Roman Slobodník from Raptor Protection of Slovakia in the University Library in Bratislava on the 11th of May.

The LIFE programme is the EU's funding instrument for the environment and climate action. It has been running since 1992 and has co-financed more than 5,500 projects across the EU and countries outside the EU. This year the LIFE turns 30. Last year 6 saker falcons were tagged with the satellite transmitters to identify the dangerous utility poles/lines located in the home range of breeding pairs and priority habitats in Slovakia. The main finding of the present study is the fact that none of the monitored individuals survived the dispersal period.
On Friday, April 22, Earth Day is commemorated and celebrated by people all around the world. This year's theme is: Invest in Our Planet. To mark the occasion, a number of events will be organized for the participants and we are glad to be part of it!
