World Animal Day is celebrated today across the world, enhancing the need to protect animals and their natural habitats. As cited from their website: "Each one of us can make a difference – together we make change!" We are proud to have eight energy companies as our project partners. This demonstrates the commitment to nature and wildlife conservation and the willingness to improve conditions for biodiversity, which can be achieved by such cooperations. Zuzana Lančaričová, Environment Specialist from the energy distribution company operating in western Slovakia Západoslovenská distribučná, a.s., will provide more information about the project actions being carried out in Slovakia.

On July 31st and August 1st, the final birdwatching activities took place in Romania as part of the LIFE DANUBE FREE SKY project. Children from the Summer School organized by the Carum Association, accompanied by coordinating teachers, explored the Tulcea – Somova – Parcheș route together with the ornithology expert

At the end of July, monitoring activities of artificial nest boxes for the Red-footed Falcon and the European Roller were completed in Northern and Northwestern Bulgaria. These boxes were installed in 2022 in suitable habitats by joint teams from the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) and Electrodustribution Grid West (EDG West), as part of the LIFE Danube Free Sky project. A total of 50 nest boxes were installed for each of the two bird species.
