The Danube River can be divided into 3 parts: upper, middle and lower Danube. The lower course of the Danube begins at the Iron Gate, which marks the boundary between Serbia and Romania, and extends all the way to the rivers's endpoint. The whole territory of the Danube in Bulgaria is thus part of the Lower Danube Basin. Learn more about the value of this magical area with Svilen Cheshmedzhiev, Project Manager from Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds, BirdLife Bulgaria who grew up there and devotes his professional life to the wildlife conservation.
