The DANUBEPARKS Network of Protected Areas is the platform for coordinated and extensive collaboration among the various administrations of the Danube Protected Areas. Building on existing transnational cooperation and successful Danube-wide joint initiatives over the last years, the Danube Protected Areas have developed a strong and enriching partnership. The DANUBEPARKS Network is working together since 2009 and, in 2014, it was also registered as a non-profit association. One of the DANUBEPARKS projects DANUBEparksCONNECTED offered the baseline for the international partnership of energy companies, national parks, and conservation organizations established under the LIFE Danube Free Sky project.
