Project Board 2021 meeting picture of participants on zoom

On the 24th of November, the Second Project Board Meeting was held with the participation of the project partners. Our colleagues from all project countries had the opportunity to present the results achieved so far, thus ensuring the exchange of information and experience among all project beneficiaries. We have shared some insights and recommendations, evaluated the project's progress and achieved results (read more: HERE), and talked about our plans for next year. The event was held online due to the worsening pandemic situation in many countries. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to meet up in person next year :). BIG thanks belong to every project partner for the tireless work and drive to achieve our ambitious goals!

Notice board in SlovakiaToday we installed 3 notice boards in Slovakia (near cycling roads in Čunovo, Bratislava, Klížska Nemá, and nearby Environmental Education Centre Dropie) that will inform passers-by about the main activities we are working on under our project. Together, 22 info boards will be installed in all project countries.

1st_International_Conference_of_Interreg_DANUrB_screenshot_with_presented_projectsOur project was presented at the 1st International Conference DANUrB+ held on 11.10.2021. At this event, we learned about different initiatives and interesting projects which have one thing in common - the area of implementation - the Danube region. The main goal of the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme project - DANUrB+ is to create a comprehensive spatio-cultural network, a “Danube Сultural Promenade” connecting all communities along the river, unifying these into one tourism destination brand, offering thematic routes and developing possibilities that can increase the number of visitors and can prolong their stay in the region. Project partners – relevant universities, research and development centers, regional and local governments, cultural NGOs, tourism boards, and professional market-based agencies – will create a network and platform to work along with a sustainable cultural and tourism strategy, proving that a common Danube urban brand can bring social and economic benefits at once.

We are really happy and thankful for the opportunity to be part of this event and network and look forward to the next opportunities for the exchange of information, experiences, and synergies for further cooperation! :)

Just as schoolchildren start school, autumn is also the time of year when many birds start their migration. In particular, the species that winter furthest from us - the so-called sub-Saharan migrants - have already left for their journeys. We won't see storks, cuckoos, or earthworms on our territory until 2022. The phenomenon of bird migration does not pay attention to the weather and current temperatures. The migrants’ instinct commands clearly - after raising their chicks, they go on a long pilgrimage. Unique sightings of migrating flocks, resting groups, and fascinating flyovers await us.
